How much Omega-3 fatty acids do we need?
In accordance with the recommendations of various specialist organisations, the Arbeitskreis Omega-3 e.V. recommends that a healthy person consumes more than 0.3 g Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA/DHA) a day.
During pregnancy and nursing, woman should take an average of 0.2 g DHA a day. Patients with heart/circulation diseases should increase their consumption to at least 1 g EPA/DHA a day.
